A long semester, finally done!

Well, I've been slacking on the blogging, and I'm going to blame it on the end of semester insanity. But that's all done now, so I can catch up on all these things I've been neglecting.

My parents are the best people around. They helped Aaron and I out so that we could visit them for Thanksgiving break. All of my siblings and their families were there too, so it was a great little reunion. I finally got to meet my new nephew, Archer, who was born over the summer, and he is the cutest little guy ever!We also went into DC to see and take pictures of the monuments at night, and we ended up with some really fun ones, thanks to Mariko's photography skills.I'm so grateful for parents who are willing and able to help us out so that we could all be together for a week. Our family is going to be all over the place for Christmas, so I was so happy that I could see them all and spend time with them for Thanksgiving.

It's going to be hard for me to not be with my parents and siblings for Christmas. I'm a girl of tradition, and my family is absolutely full of holiday traditions. So this year I'll be going without the Christmas crackers, the sleepy soup, and the giant Santa stockings. But Aaron and I got our first Christmas tree together and set it up as soon as December hit, and even though it's only three feet tall, I think it looks really cute with all the ornaments that I've accumulated over the years. And according to my aunt, my three foot tall tree is the same style as Queen Victoria's tree when the tradition was first brought from Germany. Neat huh?Well Aaron and I have having a pretend Christmas tomorrow to open all the gifts that we're not bringing with us to California. (Aaron's oldest brother is hosting us for the holidays- so nice!) I'm pretty excited because there are some gifts sitting there "under" the tree that I just can't figure out!

I think this is probably the last blog post of 2009, so I wish everyone a wonderful Christmas and and New Year!

Cougar Football

I didn't buy an all-sports pass this year, because the prices went up and at the beginning of the semester Aaron and I were dirt poor and decided to spend our money on other things, like rent and food. Anyway, we got tickets for the BYU-TCU game, our homecoming game, from Aaron's work and we were really excited to go. This was supposed to be a good game.
We started figuring out that things weren't going to go so well on Saturday, when we played ultimate frisbee, just like we do every Saturday. No one was playing well. Our throws were all off, and no one could catch even the few good throws. Not a good omen.

Then, while we were finishing some laundry before we left for the game, it started raining. Another good sign, eh?

Ok, so really, we had fun at the game. We were sitting with a few other people that Aaron works with, but mostly we were just having fun watching it together. I was mad at Max Hall for not going for a first down when we were at 4th and 2, and I was even more upset at him when he decided it would be a good idea to play on 4th and 20... Huh? But still. A fun game. And it only rained for about 20 seconds, so that was a perk.I'm glad we got to finally go to a game.

This is probably the last BYU football game I'll get to go to while I'm still a student here so thank you LDS Philanthropies for giving us tickets!

We've Got Wheels!

We made the big purchase last week and we are now first time car owners! We're so excited to go to the grocery store, now that the car is registered and driveable- it will be so nice not to have to walk from the store to the apartment with backpacks and arms full of milk, bread, eggs, frozen chicken, and all the other staples of our diet.

It's a 2003 Volkswagen Passat turbo and I love driving it! It's so smooth and it's nice and roomy too! We're trying to minimize our use of it- we've been getting along just fine for the most part without it, so we're trying to save money on gas by continuing walking or biking to campus. Parking at BYU is a nightmare anyway, so we're trying to avoid that whole situation too.

We're excited to finally have a way to get around, and we're hoping all goes well.

Finally gave in

Well, we finally gave in and got a blog! I don't really expect many people to follow it, but it's here nonetheless and there will be posts. We are the Kimblers, and we got married on May 16, 2009! We're excited to be starting our life together while we finish up in school.

Surprisingly, Aaron was the one who wanted to get this set up! I remember I was the one who mentioned it a few months ago, and I'm guessing I'll be doing most of the updating, but I'm impressed that he actually made the blog!

Well, that's all for now! Come back often for updates and photos!
