Hubby turned 27!

Aaron is awesome.  And he turned 27 this month!

He loves angel food cake, so that's what I made for him.  He's such a goofball and I love him lots!

Turning 24

Well, I turned 24.

Not really a very exciting age when you think about it...

But hey!  I had fun anyway!

After work I came home to a bouquet of flowers and dinner on the table :)

My parents came over and brought cake and presents :)

Most of my presents involved our upcoming cruise and the summer- whoo hoo!

And that weekend, Aaron took me on a time traveling adventure to Medieval England (ish) where we attended the king's feast and a tournament of the knights of the realm.

So even though 24 isn't really an exciting age, I had a great birthday and I'm looking forward to a great year.

Birthday!

I have totally been slacking on this blog- oops!  Things have been a little busy around here, so writing on the blog just didn't happen.

My birthday was March 7th.  We decided to have a game night with a few friends the night before my birthday to celebrate.  It was a really fun.  Aaron made me a cake and everything.

Aaron let me open my presents that night since we ended up still being awake after midnight.  New Wii game, a Disney movie, a Nancy Drew computer game, Plants vs. Zombies, and a new dress!  Well, I didn't actually open a new dress, but my parents are buying me a dress, as a birthday gift, for Natalie's wedding.  We ordered it today and I'm really excited to get it in about a week!

So thanks to everyone who helped make my birthday awesome!

Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

We got a Wii!  (Don't you love my creative post title?)  I love it.  And we got a Wii Fit too, which is awesome.  I was actually sore the day after we played it for the first (and second, and third) time, and the games on it are actually really fun.  I highly recommend it.  This was an early Christmas present for ourselves, thanks to Black Friday.  Yay for Christmas and yay for sales!

Unfortunately we didn't get all (or even most) of our Christmas gifts taken care of on Black Friday.  That means more shopping.  However I'm still struggling to figure out what to get everyone on my gift list, so we'll see how that goes.

We did a little decorating for the holidays as well.  I put out my snowflake table runner as soon as it was done, and it wasn't too long before my snowflake window clings went up on the living room window too.  This past weekend, we did the rest of our decorating- our mini tree, some tinsel, and Christmas lights.  I wish we could do more, but our tiny apartment only has so much room for seasonal decorations.

Aaron only has one more week of classes after this one and then the semester will finally be over!  Then he'll be on to his last semester of college!  We still don't know where we'll be after that... one step at a time, right?

All kinds of excitement!

Well, I just turned in my last research papers of my college career!  All I have left is a written ballet final at 4:00 this afternoon, and a 3 page essay take-home final due on Friday by 5:00pm.  I did my gymnastics final this morning, turned in my 12 pager on symbolism in LOTR and did a presentation on it, and turned in my 10 pager on Hitchcock and Poe.  What a day.  And you know, it's really too bad I don't know French, because learning these French ballet terms would have been a lot easier if I did.

So Aaron's birthday is on Sunday.  I'm struggling a bit to think of something to get him...  Unfortunately, this boy has expensive tastes!  The only things he can think of that he wants are a desktop computer, a new digital camera, ratchets, and an angel food cake.  Well, I already bought the ratchets, and the angel food cake pan is all ready to go, but I just don't know.  And my parents asked me for suggestions of something to get him, but I can't tell them anything because, well, I'm basically out of ideas!  I know he's satisfied with just getting the ratchets from me because he's easy to please when it comes to gifts, but I feel a little lame just getting him some tools.  No, it's not that I feel lame getting him tools, I just really want to make him happy.

So I have to get my countdown on here because everything is getting so close!
  • End of classes: 1 1/2 hours
  • Aaron's birthday: 6 days
  • Mom and Dad get here: 9 days
  • Graduation: 10 days
  • 1 Year Anniversary: 34 days
On another note, Aaron has been working at the BYU Telefund for...ever... and he got a new job doing IT stuff that he's going to start either later this week or on Monday!  I'm so excited for him! He'll be graduating next April, so it'll be good that he has a whole year of relevant work experience before he starts a real, big-boy job.  Yay!

I'm so excited to see my parents next week!  I feel like I haven't seen them in forever, even though it's only been since Thanksgiving.  Though, to be fair, I think this is about the longest I've gone without seeing them.  Crazy.  They're staying with us in our one-bedroom apartment, so it's going to be a little tight, but I'm okay with that because I'm so excited!  I just hope the weather is good while they're here!

Birthday Weekend!

So this past Sunday was my birthday! I had such a good weekend with my sweet husband and some great friends. And I got to talk to my parents and siblings. More on that in a minute...

I think I must be getting old. I mean, I know I'm still young, but I remember the days when a birthday was a significant change in who we were! "No, I'm not seven, I'm EIGHT!" That's a big deal! I passed 21 and I don't think I have any more landmark birthdays until I get to be over the hill. How did that happen? Weird.

Anyway, on Saturday Aaron and I went out to dinner and we also bought me a new dress! It's so pretty! I don't have a picture of it yet, so that'll have to come later.

On my birthday, we had a bunch of people over (3 other couples) and had a murder mystery party! I had planned on taking pictures of everyone dressed up, but I completely forgot until after everyone was gone. Sad. But it was so much fun! It took place in the old west, and it was full of scandal, theft, and of course, murder. All of our characters were so quirky and exciting and we had such a good time trying to figure out who the murderer was. Turns out, I was the mastermind behind most of the crazy things that were going on. Awesome.

So I kinda cheated. I opened my presents the night before my birthday. Oops! I couldn't wait. My mom is awesome. She spent a lot of time and made me this GREAT pig wall hanging! After all, pigs are my favorite animal... (I'm secretly looking forward to having a baby girl so I can decorate her room with all my pig paraphernalia that's currently in a giant box at my parents' house...) This thing is awesome. Check out all the quilting detail!
My parents also gave me the best cookbook in the world, which is great because now I won't have to keep asking them to email me recipes from their copy! And a book of table runner patterns, because my mom knows that a table runner is one of the top projects on my list of things to make/do once I have time.
My in-laws sent me this cute bag that Karen made! It's so cute and I can't wait to start using it!
And I'm terrible. Aaron gave me these for my birthday, but I picked them out myself. I guess that's what happens when we do ALL of our shopping together. I didn't even give him a chance to pick something out himself. But he did buy me my awesome new dress that I don't have a picture of yet. Best husband ever.

Ok, so I just have to say that I have serious senioritis right now. Ugh. Less than five weeks (34 days) of classes left and I'm having a hard time staying motivated. Aaron's so good at helping me though. He stays up with me on my late nights and helps me de-stress on the weekends.

Only 43 days until I graduate!
